Argentine Lionel Messi, the American Inter Miami player, was crowned with the 2023 Ballon d’Or.
The list of candidates included 30 players, and Erling Haaland, Manchester City’s top scorer, and French star Kylian Mbappé, Paris Saint-Germain’s striker, competed against him.
Messi tops the list of players who have won the Ballon d’Or award most times in history, with 8 times during his football career full of titles and achievements, in the years: 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2015, 2019 and 2021, 2023.
The legend Messi returned to the training of his team, Inter Miami, and was given a historic reception by his teammates, a reception about which Messi said:
