Pedri, the Barcelona player, sent an optimistic message to the fans of his team Barcelona before the start of the new season under the leadership of veteran German coach Hansi Flick.
Barcelona fans hope that the team will succeed in overcoming the disappointment of the ending season, from which it emerged empty-handed without any title.
Pedri said, in statements reported by the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, “I think we will have a wonderful year in Barcelona.”
He continued: “There is a new coach, and the team will give him all the confidence. I think it will be a wonderful year and we will win a lot of things in it.”
Pedri talked about Barcelona’s potential deals, including the deal to sign Neco Williams, the star of the Spanish national team and Athletic Bilbao.
Pedri said about this: “Clearly, signing Williams would be a wonderful thing. We see what he is doing with Spain in the European Nations Cup. We hope that having him with us will add to Barcelona a lot of strength and skill that we lack.”
He continued: “We do not know how things will go, because he has a contract with Athletic Bilbao, but I hope to join him in Barcelona.”
Pedri touched on the possibility of signing midfielder Mikel Merino, saying: “Merino is a player I would love to see in the midfield. He is a machine that never stops running. He will help me a lot in liberation from defensive roles.”
He continued: “I always tell him that it is impossible for him to ever lose the ball. Merino has many skills, whether playing with or without the ball. He is a complete player.”
Pedri referred to the potential Dani Olmo deal, saying: “Dani is a great player. He has already been to Barcelona, and he knows what it means to belong to the club. I hope he gets his chance to come to the club.”
