The Catalan team is seeking to filter its ranks and expel players who did not contribute to the team, which is the first goal now for club president Joan Laporta.
Laporta seeks to expel half of the players who did not add to the team before he went for reinforcement, a decision he settled on in consultations with those in charge.
In light of this, “Sport” newspaper indicated that Laporta decided to expel the team player and the failed deal, Oriol Romeu, in January. The resounding surprise was that no club came forward to sign the player, whether on loan or final sale, to the point that Laporta told the team’s sporting director that Barcelona was involved. This deal is very bad.
Laporta wanted to sell the player in January to benefit from the money in support of a central midfielder instead, as the player did not provide any significant addition to the Catalan team.
